Dorothy P. Foster Baucom

Dorothy P. Foster Baucom, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, in the Center on Aging and Health. She was a native of Erwin and a daughter of the late Andy Thomas and Zettie Chandler Foster. Dorothy was a member of Omega Baptist Church. She was a loving homemaker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Robert E. Baucom in 2000; brothers: William Andy, William Howard, Arvil “Baldy”, Raymond, Ray and Oliver Foster and sisters: Pauline King, Frances Ingle, Rosie Stancil, and May Hughes.

She leaves behind:

The life of Dorothy P. Foster Baucom will be remembered and honored in a funeral service to be at 8:00 PM on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. A eulogy will be provided by Fred D. Lewis. Musical selections will be provided by Donnette Hahn. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 6:00 PM until service time at Valley Funeral Home on Wednesday, and other times at the home of her daughter, Connie Lynn Lewis, 706 E. Mountcastle Drive, Johnson City, TN 37601. A committal service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 13, 2013 in the Mausoleum Chapel of Evergreen Cemetery. Those who plan to attend will meet at 10:30 AM on Thursday at Valley Funeral Home to go in procession. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, may make donations to, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK, 73123.
