Dolly Wardrupe Allen, 86, 100 Greenway Circle, Erwin, died Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care.
She was born February 14, 1925 in Erwin. She was the daughter of the late Joe and Minnie Tinker Wardrupe.
Mrs. Allen was a member of Shallowford Baptist Church. She was a former employee of Southern Pottery and was a homemaker. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Allen; brother, Howard Wardrupe and sisters, Irene Howell, Gladys Runion, and Viola Wardrupe and brother-in-law, Hugh Bowman.
Survivors include two sons: Mitchell Allen, Edward Allen and wife Michelle; one daughter: Merita Beam and husband, Gary, all of Erwin; two grandsons: Travis Allen and Brian Allen; great grandson: Trent and great granddaughter: Winter, all of Erwin; brother: Edward Wardrupe, of Erwin; sisters: Eva Bowman, of Bristol; Georgie Arrowood; Revonda Engle and husband, Ike; Pauline McIntosh; Betty Jean Runion and husband, Carrol, all of Erwin; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at Evergreen Cemetery Sunday, May 15, at 9:30 a.m., with the Rev. Les Honeycutt officiating. Special music was provided by Terry Bailey.
Erwin Memorial Funeral Home was in charge.
