Della Mae Cooper, affectionately known as Miss Della and Granny, age 83, of Erwin, formerly of Knoxville, passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital. A native of Knoxville, TN, Miss Della was born on October 25, 1930, a daughter of the late James L. and Bonnie Hefner Branum. She was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Knoxville, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, W. Burl Cooper; a Daughter, Libby Lee; Grandsons, Michael Cooper, Larry Lee, Jr, Benjamin Lee and William Burl Cooper II; Granddaughter, Tyjuana Lee; and brother, Buddy Branum.

The life of Della Mae Cooper will be remembered and honored in a funeral service to be held at 8:00 PM on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home with Bishop John Edwards officiating. Vocal selections will be provided by Terry Farrow. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 6:00 PM and continue until service time on Wednesday at Valley Funeral Home. A graveside committal service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery at 11:00AM on Thursday, November 14, 2013. Those attending the graveside service will meet at Valley Funeral Home by 10:30AM Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.
