David W. Pauley

David W. Pauley, age 64, 179 Canah Hollow Road, Erwin, went home to be with the Lord at 1:51 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2013, at Johnson City Medica l Center. He was a native of Erwin, and a son of the late Robert Chester and Dorothy Edith Fanning Pauley.
Mr. Pauley was a well known local law enforcement officer. He served as a lieutenant for the Unicoi County Sheriff's Department with over 20 years service prior to joining the Erwin Police Department for the last 7 years. David was the first K-9 Officer for the Unicoi County Sheriff's Department. He was a devoted member and deacon of Southside Free Will Baptist Church. David was also a member of Centennial Masonic Lodge #491 F&AM.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Pauley, and a sister, Sherry Pauley.

David is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sue Pauley, one son, Bradley David Pauley, Erwin, one daughter, Alissa Ann Honeycutt, Erwin,one sister, Janie Arwood and husband, Jerry, Erwin, four grandsons: Tristan White, Garrison Honeycutt, Bryant Honeycutt,and Bryce Honeycutt, several nieces and nephews including special niece, Lori McCoury, Unicoi, very special friend, Joel Higgins, Telford, and many other friends, as well as his law enforcement family.

Funeral service for David will be held Friday, November 1, 2013 at 8:00 PM from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Kevin Laws will officiate. Centennial Masonic Lodge #491 F&AM with Mr. Carlyle Love, Chaplain, will conduct Masonic memorial rites following the funeral service. Special music will be provided by soloists, Darren Higgins, and Reverend Kevin Laws. Fellow police officers of the Erwin Police Department will serve as active pallbearers. Deacons and brothers in Christ of Southside Free Will Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Interment will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 2, 2013 in Roselawn Memory Garden with the Erwin Police Department and Unicoi County Sheriff's Department providing honors. Those attending the committal are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:00 AM to go in procession to the cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday evening prior to the funeral service between the hours of 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and other times at the family home.
