David Vaughn

David Vaughn age 70, of Erwin, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020.  A native of Erwin, David Vaughn is a son of the late Howard and Hazel Vaughn. He is a retired police chief with the Veteran’s Affairs in Johnson City TN. He enjoyed fishing with fishing with his grandson. In addition to his parents, David Vaughn is preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years Mary Ruth Vaughn; brother-in-law’s Bobby Buchanan, Raymond Vines, and Howard Grindstaff Jr.; and one sister-in-law Billie Jean Harris.

David Vaughn has left to cherish his memories:

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute to the life of David Vaughn in a funeral service to be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at 7:00 pm in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home. Pastor Carl Connely will officiate.  A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 pm on Thursday, September 17, 2020 and will continue until service time at Valley Funeral Home; and other times at home of Shannon and Angie Vaughn, 104 Myrtle Avenue, Erwin, TN 37650.  A graveside committal service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 18, 2020 in Evergreen Cemetery.  Those attending should meet at Evergreen Cemetery by 9:50 am for the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Veteran Police Affairs Staff.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Ninth Street Baptist Church Youth Fund at 310 9th St, Erwin, TN 37650.
