David Ledford Jr., 67, 501 Ledford Road Extension, Erwin, died Wednesday, April 13, 2011, at Johnson City Medical Center. He was born March 16, 1944 to the late Madeline Deadrick Ledford Garland and David Ledford Sr.
Mr. Ledford was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served his country during the Vietnam conflict. He was a retired truck driver for Crete Carrier for over 32 years.
He was a member of Shallow Ford Baptist Church.
Mr. Ledford was a beloved husband and father, an avid fisherman and a great admirer of wildlife
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David Jonathan Ledford; grandson, Markus Shawn Ledford; sister, Edna Stone; and step father, Howard Taft Garland.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife and best friend of 40 years, Pat Ledford; two sons: Mark Ledford and wife, Beverly, Carlisle, Pa., and Victor Ledford, Erwin; one daughter, Anna Ledford Bucchi and husband, Michael, Erwin; six grandchildren: Krystal, Victoria, Sarah, Colt, Kristen, and Noah; one great granddaughter, Enola; two sisters: Alice Hensley and husband, Lloyd, Erwin, Irene Satchfield and husband Don, Peoria, Ill.; special brother, Doug Crain, Chuckey; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services were Friday, April 15, at 7 p.m., from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Williams officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Bennett, Gene Ramsey, Ted Davis, Larry Beard, Gary Tipton, Gene (Pappy) West, and Tim Ledford.
