DANNY JOE HAWKINS

Danny Joe Hawkins, 50, of 265 Hawkins Road, Erwin, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011 at his residence. Mr. Hawkins was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a son of Ray Hawkins and the late Shirley White Hawkins.
He worked for Hargus White Sawmill and was of the Church of God faith.
Other than his father, survivors include a daughter: Brenda Danielle Hawkins, Erwin; step-mother: Judy Dover Hawkins,Erwin; sister: Kim Hawkins, Erwin; and step-brother: Jeff Couch of Hay Market, Va.
The funeral service was conducted at 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 27, in the chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Bishop John Edwards and the Rev. Travis Holloway officiated.
Interment was at 2 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 28 at McInturff Cemetery in the Rock Creek community of Erwin.
Valley Funeral Home was in charge.
