Daisy Bell Chandler, age 94, North Buffalo Street, Erwin, passed away Monday, September 8, 2014, in the Center on aging & Health. She was a lifel ong resident of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late Albert and Tiny Berry Thompson. Mrs. Chandler was a homemaker. She was a member of the Southside Freewill Baptist Church. Other than her parents Mrs. Chandler was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Chandler in 1989; a grandson, Denny Chandler in 2006; one brother and two sisters.
Mrs.Chandler is survived by two daughters, Priscilla Bailey and husband, James, of Erwin, and Glenda Angel and husband, Bob, of Easley, SC; three grandchildren, James D. “Doc” Bailey, Sherry Greathouse and Wendy Angel; seven great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Several nephews also survive.
Funeral service for Mrs. Chandler will be held at 7:00 P. M. Wednesday, September 10, 2014, from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Bernie Jones and Reverend Kevin Laws will officiate. Music will be provided by Inez Chandler. Honorary pallbearers will be men of the Southside Freewill Baptist Church. Active pallbearers will be Bill Rogers, Jeff Bailey, Paul Green, Amos Ledford, Wayne Edwards and Jimmy Padgett. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P. M. Wednesday until the hour of service. Family, ministers, pallbearers and friends are requested to assemble at the Evergreen Cemetery by 10:50 A. M. for the 11:00 A. M. committal service.
The Chandler family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Erwin Center on Aging for the loving care that was given to their mother during her stay at the center.
