Clyde Lee Williams, 60, Ashe Street, Johnson City, died Friday, March 9, 2012, in Coal City, W. Va.
He considered Unicoi County his home. Mr. Williams was a son of the late Fred Roosevelt and Josie
Whitson Williams. Mr. Williams was owner of Williams Tree Trimming Service.
He served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps. He attended Mountain Dale Free Will Baptist Church. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Loreen Lewis, Pauline Edwards, and Eunice Angel; two brothers: Wayne Williams and Francis Williams. Survivors include a beloved step-son, Jake; three sisters: Joy Williams, Jonesborough, Gail Radford, Kay
Effler and husband Bobby, all of Erwin; one brother: Gary English and wife Betty, of Erwin; several nieces and nephews; best friends: Danese Divers and Donald Wallace.
Funeral service for Mr. Williams will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, from the Robert Ledford
Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Tommy Hensley will officiate. Special music will be provided by Tommy and Pansy Hensley and Steve and Sally Price. Active pallbearers will be Gary Watts, Michael Holston, L. J. Bagby, E. J. Adkins, Wade Divers and Everett Hughes. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary English, Billy Lewis, Ronnie Edwards, Dave Wiliams, Chester Lewis, Pat Ladner, Larry Stripe and Phillip Middleton. Interment will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 14, in Hughes Cemetery, Yancey County, N.C. Elizabethton American Legion Post No. 49 will render last rites at the graveside. Minister, pallbearers, family and those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 9 a.m., Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday prior to the funeral service at Robert Ledford Funeral Home and Chapel.
