Clyde Clifford Bryant

Clyde Clifford Bryant, age 81, 525 Laughren Road, Unicoi, passed away Monday, October 20, 2014, in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a nati ve of Yancey County, NC, and had lived most of his life in Unicoi County. Mr. Bryant was a son of the late Dewey and Althea Williams Bryant. He was a U. S. Army veteran. Mr. Bryant was owner of Bryant Heating & Air Conditioning. He was a member of the Unicoi Masonic Lodge #681 F&AM, past president of Unaka Mountain Search & Rescue and had served as Assistant Chief of the Unicoi Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Woodby Hill Free Will Baptist Church. Other than his parents, Mr. Bryant was predeceased by one sister.

Mr. Bryant leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of fifty-eight years, Shirley A. Bryant; three sons, Danny Bryant and wife, Lucy, of Unicoi; Damon Bryant and wife, Robin, of Erwin; Darryl Bryant and wife, Melissa, of Johnson City; one daughter, Angela Boone and husband, David, of Erwin; three brothers, Burgess Bryant of Unicoi; Maynard Bryant and wife, Lurley; Harvey Bryant and wife, Beatrice; one sister, Marie Laws, all of Unicoi; eleven grandchildren, Doug Boone, Dianna Boone Higgins, Heather McCarty, Josh Bryant, Chad Bryant, Kayla Foster, Matthew Bryant, Sydney Bryant, Jonathan Bryant, Troy Boone and Jeremy Bryant; Nine great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P. M. to 8:00 P. M. Wednesday, October 22, 2014, from the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel and other times at the home, 525 Laughren Road, Unicoi. Funeral service will be held at 8:00 P. M. from the funeral home with Reverend Lester Perkins and Reverend Charlie Foster officiating. Grandmaster, George Ritchie will render masonic rites. Music will be provided by Troy Boone and Inez Chandler, Pianist. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to assemble at the Unicoi Funeral Home by 10:30 A. M. Thursday to go in procession to the 11:00 A. M. service at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
