Clara Joan Clark, age 69, Unicoi, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 21, 2013, at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a Unicoi County native and a daughter of the late Rev. William B. McNabb and Mrs. Pansy Tipton McNabb of Unicoi. Through the years, Mrs. Clark had worked for Sears, was a model for J. C. Penny in the 1960s, was a school teacher at Greeneville Christian Academy for several years and had owned and operated beauty shops in Greeneville and Unicoi County. She had been a Sunday School teacher at Central Baptist Church while living in Greeneville. For the last 25 years she was a member of Marbleton Freewill Baptist Church where she was active in various church ministries including singing in the church choir and the church quartet.
Joan was a loving and dedicated Christian wife, mother and grandmother.

Daughter: Angel Dixon of Greeneville;
Brothers: Rev. Harold McNabb and his wife Ruth of Unicoi;
Gary McNabb and his wife Mary Lynn of Unicoi;
Sisters: Brenda Barnett of Unicoi;
Deborah Miles and her husband Terry of Greeneville
Grandsons: Brandon and Tyler Dixon, both of Greeneville;
And several Nieces, Nephews, Aunts and Uncles.
A funeral service for Clara Joan Clark will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Reverend Tim Broyles will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by Rev. Harold McNabb, accompanied by Ruth McNabb on the piano. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4:00 PM until service time at Valley Funeral Home. A graveside committal service will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 10:00 AM at McInturff Cemetery in the Marbleton Community of Unicoi with Rev. Sam Ferguson officiating. Those who wish to attend the graveside committal service are asked to meet at Valley Funeral Home by 9:30AM to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Gary McNabb, Stan Widener, Bobby Odom, Willard Leath, John Mosley, Mark Hill and Tyler Dixon. Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Clapa, Richard Tipton, Alan Bagley, Donald Bagley, David Hensley, J. M. Whitson, Greg Leake and Brandon Dixon.
