Christine Marie Tipton

Christine Marie Tipton, age 57, 411 West Poplar Street, Johnson City, passed away at 9:13 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2013, at Franklin Woods Community Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of this area and a daughter of the late Vernon Lewis Sneyd, Sr. and Edith Garland Sneyd.
Christine was a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse and had recently retired from James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Mountain Home. She was a loving and devoted momma, granny, and sister.
Other than her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Tipton, July 4, 2006.

She is survived by one son, Michael Smith and girlfriend, Keeli Parkey, Erwin; one daughter, Christy LaFollette and husband, David Ray, Johnson City; two step-sons, Johnny Padgett, Jr. and family, Gray, Charlie Padgett and family, Unicoi; one step-daughter, Amy Lingerfelt and family, Johnson City; five grandchildren, Tristan Smith, Dakoda Smith, Katie Marie LaFollette, Brooke LaFollette and Alexis LaFollette; four brothers, Vernon Lewis Sneyd, Jr. and wife, Barbara, Nevada, William David Sneyd and wife, Brenda, Johnson City, Bobby Gene Sneyd and wife, Vivian, Hampton and James Richard “Ricky” Sneyd and wife, Sandy, Unicoi; three sisters, Martha Lee Rice and husband, Wayne, Lauri Vance, all of Unicoi, Cindy Roberta Evans, Erwin; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sam and Hyacinth Tipton, Johnson City. Numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews also survive.

A Celebration of Christine's Life will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013, from the Unicoi Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Morris Burkett will officiate. Special music will be provided by Jennifer Sneyd Allen and Inez Chandler. Active pallbearers will be nephews and special friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.

The committal service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, in Bell Cemetery. Those attending the service are asked to meet at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
