Charles James “Chuck” Edwards

Charles James “Chuck” Edwards, age 73, Meadowood Park, Erwin, passed away on June 22, 20123, at his home with family and friends by his side. He had fought a long battle of illness.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Loretta (Bailey) Edwards; daughter Wendi Goads and husband Brian; son, Jarid Edwards and girlfriend Kelly Pinyard; three grandchildren, Katie Edwards, Jarid-Michael Edwards and Makaleigh Godsey; four special grandsons, Berger, Pevrin, Cashion and Griffen Bowron; one sister, Happy Gail Edwards; and several nieces and nephews, all of Johnson City.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Happy and Ruth (Boone) Edwards and one infant sister, Betty.
He was a member of Lily Dale Christian Church.
As a student at Milligan College and East Tennessee State University, he was a very gifted photographer, artist, craftsman, carpenter, cook and housekeeper. Also, a retiree of the railroad, there wasn't anything Chuck couldn't do. He was a beloved husband, dad, papaw and uncle.
In honor of the years he served in the u.S. Navy, a graveside service will be held at the V.A. cemetery on Tuesday, July 30, at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the family. Visitation can be made on Sunday, July 28, 2013, at 1126 E. Erwin Rd., apartment 28, between 2 and 5 p.m.
