Charles “Red” Banks

Charles “Red” Banks, age 85, of Erwin, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Unicoi County and a son of the late Nola Edwards Banks and Roy and Bessie Banks. Charles was a veteran of the United States Army and a devoted family and business man. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years and his family was his true love. In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his son: Greg Banks, grandson: Joseph Banks, brothers: Johnny and Billy Banks, sister: Dorothy Hughes.

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Charles Banks in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 PM, Thursday, October 8, 2015, at Calvary Baptist Church, 540 Adams Street, Erwin, TN .37650. His children and grandchildren will be delivering eulogies and music will be provided by Gary Amos. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 PM and will continue until service time on Thursday at the Church. A committal service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 9, 2015 at Evergreen Cemetery. Those who wish to attend are asked to meet at Valley Funeral Home on Friday by 1:30 PM to go in procession to the cemetery.
