Carol Sue Woods

Carol Sue Woods, 76, of Erwin passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 following a brief illness. She was a lifetime resident of Unicoi County and the daughter of Carrie M Guinn and the late Leonard T Guinn. Carol was a graduate of Unicoi County High School. She retired in 2000 from Siemens, Texas Instruments in Johnson City and was the co-owner of the family business Carolina Deli in Erwin for many years. She was a charter member of Central Baptist Church of Erwin and was a former childrens Sunday school teacher who loved the Lord and was always praying for others. Recently she attended church services with her mother at Unicoi County Long Term Care and enjoyed the messages so much brought by Brother Bob Cooper and shared them with her family. Carol Sue was a loving wife, daughter, mother, mamaw, gramma and friend to all who knew her. She loved her family and friends and always put others first serving as a caregiver to others. Carol Sue was a very hard worker and worked on the family farm for much of her life. In addition to her father she is preceded in death by her loving sister Virginia (Jenny) Jones, Mother and Father in law: Dan and Helen Woods, brothers and sister in law: Dallas Woods, Gail Woods and Jimmy Deadrick.

The family request the honor of your presence as we honor and remember the life of Carol Sue Woods in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 30, 2014 in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Wiley will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M until service time on Saturday. A Committal service will be at 1:00 PM, on Sunday, August 31, 2014 in the Mausoleum Chapel of Evergreen Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Danny Murphy, Tommy Woods, Kim Woods, David Lowe, Taylor Guinn, Willie Runion, Lee Brown and Tony Woods. Honorary Pallbearers are Bill Runion, Ted Love, J W Tipton, Max Adkins, Mack Woods, Larry Murphy, Jerry Ramsey, Gene Ramsey, Garret Edwards, Ira Jones, Gene Tipton, Terry Haynes, Jerry Smith and Henry Hampton.
