Bruce A. King, age 70, of Telford, passed away on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at the Johnson City Medical Center with family and friends by his side. He was a native of Erwin and a son of the late Claude and Bonnie Willis King. He was a member of Ninth Street Baptist Church. Bruce worked for Clinchfield/CSX Railroad for 39 years as a conductor and for the last 16 years of his employment he served as the local chairman for the UTU Local 1162. Mr. King was a faithful member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 31 years where he was a sponsor to and helped many people in their sobriety. He was also a member of the United Transportation Union for 47 years. In addition to his parents, Bruce is preceded in death by his wife, Sherry King and brother, Don King.

Grandsons: Zachary and Matthew Peake of Mountain City
Sister: Jane Decker of Jonesborough
