Brice Lester Bennett

Lester Bennett was born January 11, 1940 in Limestone Cove, Tn. Lester passed away on September 11, 2013 in Fresno, Ca. at the age of 73. He was the oldest son of the late Harry Bennett and Neta Hyder Bennett.
He was retired from South Eastern Metal Fabrication in OakRidge, Tn. His first job was at Nuclear Fuels Services in Erwin. He was especially proud of being a plant manager at National Casket Company.
Lester was an exceptional football player in high school; he was a running back for the UCHS Blue Devils and then fullback for Wofford College.
Lester was an avid sports fan, especially college football. He loved the U.T. Vols! He watched every sports event from football to NASCAR racing. He enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved traveling and driving his motor home to Tn. every chance he got! He enjoyed baking and home cooked meals.
Lester was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses with the hope of being resurrected to paradise earth. He talked about his hope to others and was respected by many.
Lester is survived by his loving wife Helen of 53 years; son: Hal Bennett; daughters: Leslie Williams, Dona Peal, Michelle Carrillo and Lara Contreras; his brother: Bobby Jack Bennett; and sister: Alice Bennett. 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Neta; and his sister Patsy Tipton, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life memorial will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (Grantland KH) in Fresno, Ca. on Friday, September 20, 2013 @ 2:00 p.m. Remembrances and memorials may be made to:
