Bonnie Lou Adkins, 70, 110 Amy St., Bristol, Va., passed away Thursday, May 5, 2011 in the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a native of Burnsville, N.C. but had lived in Tennessee most of her life.
Mrs. Adkins was a daughter of Stella Fender Robinson, Erwin and the late Harry Robinson. She was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker. Mrs. Adkins was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Adkins; four brothers: Clyde and Clay Edwards and Ted and Bobby Robinson; a granddaughter: Ashley Oleen.
Survivors in addition to her mother, are two sons: Terry Harris and wife, Karen, Erwin and Mike Harris and wife, Leona of Clarksville, Tenn.; four daughters: Tammy Hollifield and husband, Tracy, Erwin, Amanda Pope and husband, Brandon, Bristol, Va., Pat Hefflin and husband, Steve, Unicoi and Wanda Hensley and husband, Wesley, Unicoi; three brothers: Gene Robinson and wife, Louise, Dean Robinson and wife, Betty, and Arnold Edwards and wife, Louise, all of Erwin; two sisters: Jane Bailey and husband, Zack of Mars Hill, N.C., Katherine Barnett of Erwin; ten grandsons; five granddaughters and four great-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mrs. Adkins was conducted at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 7, in the Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home with the Rev. David Robbins officiating.
Internment was conducted at 10 a.m., Monday, May 9, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Terry Harris, Jake Williams, Justin Honeycutt, Michael, Brandon, David and Daniel Hefflin.
Woodall-Anderson and Dugger Funeral Home was in charge.
