Billie Kate Sams Arrowood, age 64, Johnson City, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Johnson City Medical Center. She was a lifelong resident of Erwin and a daughter of the late Bill Sams and Evelyn Kirk Ragan.
Billie was a school bus driver for the Unicoi County Headstart Program. She enjoyed her job and loved being surrounded by all the children. Billie was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, David Sams.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, one son, Clarence Andrew Jones, of the home; one sister, Jodie Helen Thompson, Dayton, TN; three brothers: Steve Sams, Erwin, Mike Sams, Kingsport and Marvin Sams, Silver Springs, MD; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Nathan Jennings will officiate at the 1:00 P.M. funeral service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery.
