BILL G. WEBB

Bill G. Webb, age 78, 1030 Carolina Ave., Erwin, died unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Webb was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a son of the late Ernest and Ethel Duncan Webb.
He was an “old-time Christian,” worshipping Biblically. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, where he served as a sergeant. He retired in 1981 from the Veteran’s Administration, Mountain Home, after 23 years as a stonemason.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 55 years, Dorothy Foster Webb, one daughter, Retia Shealy and husband, Terry, Erwin; two brothers, Ulis “Mink” Webb, Erwin, Jim Webb and wife, Coralee, Oklahom; two sisters, Dot Bumgardner, Erwin, Sandra Masters and husband, Richard, Erwin, and Bet Webb and Arie Filbert, both of Washington state; special brother-in-law, Arnold Foster, Erwin; “heart family” Kim and Todd Edwards, Erwin, Bobby and Melissa Rutherford, Erwin, Shannon and Kelly Blevins, Erwin; two grandsons, Carson and Cooper Rutherford, Erwin; two granddaughters, Sara and Kara Bailey, Erwin; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at Roselawn Cemetery with full military honors being conferred. The Rev. Burl Ledford officiated. Special music was provided by Clarence Bailey and the Stanton Family.
Active pallbearers were Todd Edwards, Norman Hardin, Gary Wayne Bailey, Keith Whitson, Randy Guinn, Gerald Webb and Ellis Engle. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Rutherford, Dave Bailey, George Shelton and the fellows at Ellis Engle’s Southern Oil & Alignment.
Robert Ledford Funeral Home was in charge.
