BEULAH TILSON

Beulah Tilson, 89, 880 South Mohawk Drive, Erwin, died Saturday evening, March 19, 2011, at the Center on Aging and Health in Erwin.
She was born August 9, 1921 in Unicoi County, and was a daughter of the late Lucious and Emma Foster Chandler.
Mrs. Tilson was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
She was a member of Mountain Dale Free Will Baptist Church.
Mrs. Tilson was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Ralph Tilson, who passed away in March of 2009. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold Chandler and Glen Chandler and by her dear friend and sister-in-law, Mattie Deaton.
Mrs. Tilson is survived by: two daughters, Kathryn Ambrose and husband Roger, Johnson City, Carole Ann Willis and husband Jerry, Erwin; one son, Terry Tilson, Kingsport; two granddaughters, Julie Chesser and husband Travis, Elizabethton, Leah Tilson, Kingsport; one great grandson, Seth Chesser, Elizabethton, and one great granddaughter, Roxie Chesser, Elizabethton; two sisters, Mary Peterson and Vivian Callahan, both of Erwin; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 23, from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Kevin Laws and the Rev. Eddie McAmis officiating.
Special music will be provided by Mary Ruth Canady, Darren Higgins, and Bobby Ramsey, and also, by David Higgins, Linda Higgins, and Damaris Higgins. Pianist will be Inez Chandler.
Active pallbearers selected are Travis Chesser, Carson Hensley, David Light, Jason Light, Ferrell Peterson, Wayne Peterson, and F.C. Peterson.
Robert Ledford Funeral Home is in charge.
