Betty Jean Taylor Pressley, age 77, of Erwin, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at the Center on Aging and Health.
Mrs. Pressley was a native of Knoxville and a daughter of the late James Leo and Donna Mae Miller Taylor.
She was a loving homemaker and a member of Hunter First Baptist Church. She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pressley was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel W. Pressley; and a brother, Robert Taylor.
Survivors include her son, William Edward Moore of Fairfield, Ohio; daughter, Patricia Jean Nelson of Erwin; step-daughter, Pam Pyles of Knoxville; step-son, David Pressley of Knoxville; grandchildren, Jamie Michelle Devin Snapp of Bristol and Michael Devin of Seymour; great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Snapp and Matthew Snapp; sisters, Patricia Pendleton ofKnoxville and Lorene Wolfenbarger of Knoxville; brothers, Jim Taylor and wife, Mildred, of Knoxville and David Taylor, also of Knoxville; several step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 7, at 1 p.m. in the Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Allen Thomas officiated. Interment followed at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Michael Devin, Andrew Snapp, David Pressley, Chris McCorkle, Josh Gill and Allan Settles.
Valley Funeral Home was in charge.
