Barbara Lee Frye Grubb

Barbara Grubb 03 09 2016Barbara Lee Frye Grubb, 67, Johnson City, entered into rest, Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center.

Mrs. Grubb was a native of Erwin and a resident of Johnson City.

She is a daughter of Gene C. and Betty Hatcher Frye, Erwin.

Mrs. Grubb was preceded in death by her father-in-law, William W. “Bill” Grubb.

She was a retired Human Resources manager from JC Penney of Johnson City.

Mrs. Grubb was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Jonesborough and was a member of Lively Ladies Sunday School Class.

She enjoyed photography, gardening , exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains, and trips to the beach with her husband of forty five years.

In addition to her parents, she leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Ronald Grubb; children, Mandy Blackburn and husband, Chad, Jenny Safay and husband, Nick; sisters: Phyllis Kasonik and husband, Bob, Becky Knox and husband, George; mother-in-law, Nancy Grubb; brothers-in-law, Terry Grubb and wife, Cheryl, and Rusty Grubb and wife, Seung Ae, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will greet guests and share memories from 5-7 pm Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Tetrick Funeral and Cremation Services, Johnson City. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 7 pm. Pastor Mark Harrod and Pastor Tom Savage will officiate. Committal services will be held at 11 am Friday at Evergreen Cemetery, Erwin, TN. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 am. Pallbearers will be Chad Blackburn, Nick Safay, Nick Baldwin, Billy Knox, Brandon Grubb and Kendell Grubb.

For those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Trinity Baptist Church, 260 Headtown Road, Jonesborough, TN 37659 or the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road #102, Johnson City, TN 37601.

The family expresses a special thanks to the nurses and staff of oncology unit 4500 of the Johnson City Medical Center.
