Arnie Edwards

Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, and after this the judgment.” Arnie Edwards, age 74, 137 River Road, Erwin, passed peacefully Monday, January 27, 2014 in Hyattsville, MD following a lengthy illness. Mr. Edwards was a lifelong resident of Erwin, TN and a son of the late Linville and JoAnna Murphey Edwards. He retired from CSX Railroad Maintenance of Way after 20 years service. Mr. Edwards enjoyed feeding the wildlife at his son's home.

Other than his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers: Lincoln Edwards, Billy Gene “Boots” Edwards, and Jerry Edwards. Mr. Edwards is survived by two sons: Todd Edwards, and wife, Kim, and Rusty Edwards, and wife, Katie, both of Erwin; two Grandsons: Derick Peterson, and Carter Edwards, both of Erwin; one brother, Tommy “Nicky” Edwards, Erwin; five sisters: Betty Hall, Columbia, SC, Gladys Orren, Helen Shealy, Barbara Masters, and husband, Dale, and Carolyn Edwards, all of Erwin; special friends: Don DeHaven, George Shelton, Terry Shealy, John and Mamie Cousins, and Hubert Price; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral service for Mr. Edwards will be conducted Wednesday, January 29,2014 at 7:00 pm from the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Aaron Waddle and Pastor DeWayne Riddle will officiate. Special music will be provided by Inez Chandler, and Pastor Waddle and wife, Laura, and Pastor Riddle and wife, Donna. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service between the hours of 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

Committal service for Mr. Edwards will be held Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 10:00 am in Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Donald DeHaven, Steve Shealy, Mike Nelson, Michael Whittington, Charlie Furches, and Ronnie Bennett. Those attending the service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 9:30 am to go in procession to the cemetery.
