Arlene Pate Clouse, 83, 3309 Temple Hill Road, died June 30, 2011 at the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late Milton and Brejettie Mathes Pate.
Mrs. Clouse was employed at the former Southern Potteries as an artist until its closing. After that, she worked at Unicoi County Memorial Hospital as an LPN for 35 years. She was a member of Shallow Ford Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers: Clarence, Ernest, Floyd, Gleason, and infant brother Eddie Pate; sisters: Edith Rice, Bashie Moore, Sue Simmons, Inez Johnson, and infant sister Jennie Mac Pate.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Henry A. Clouse; son: Tommy Clouse and wife Carolyn, Erwin; brothers: Anderson Pate and wife Ann, Erwin; Tommy John Pate and wife Betty, Erwin; step grandchildren: Heather and Corey Bailey of Hampton; Kelly and Michael Peterson of Erwin; Jordan Vance of Erwin; step great grandchild: Rilee Peterson of Erwin.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 2, in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home with the Rev. James Lynch officiating. Music was under the direction of Gary Amos.
Interment was at Roselawn Memory Gardens, Johnson City. Serving as Pallbearers were Lee Edwards, Bill Pate, Bob Pate, Dewayne Pate, Jim Pate, Paul Pate, Daryl White, and Lee Brown. Honorary Pallbearers were Jordan Vance, Chris Bogart, John English, Mickey Hatcher, Corey Bailey, and Michael Peterson.
Valley Funeral Home was in charge.
