Angela Diane Lewis Gouge, 49, of Erwin, died after a long battle with cancer on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011 at Appalachian Christian Village.
She was a daughter of Betty Crain Lewis and the late Bill A. Lewis. She was a native of Unicoi County and a 1979 graduate of Unicoi County High School.
She attended Walter State Community College where she received a BS degree in Nursing. She had worked as a registered nurse for twenty years at Johnson City Medical Center, Holston Valley Medical Center and in the home health industry.
She attended Grace United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her mother: Betty Crain Lewis; two aunts: Joyce Erwin and Nellie Lewis, both of Erwin; several cousins; dear friends; and her beloved dog, Petunia.
Graveside services were held at Roselawn Memory Gardens on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at 2 p.m.
Pallbearers were Douglas Crain, Jeff Crain, Ben Crain, Kenneth Shinn, Chris Edmonds and Chris Ledford. Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Van Brocklin, Hunter Van Brocklin, Mark Lloyd, Mickey Weber and Joel Weber.
The Rev. Billy Bevan,Jr. and the Rev. Garland James officiated.
