Alice D. Brackins

Alice D. Brackins, age 74, of Erwin, passed away on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was a native of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late Elmer and Rosie Williams Tilson. She retired from Mor-Flo after 17 years of employment. Alice was a member of Coffee Ridge Tabernacle. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brackins is preceded in death by her son, Tommy Brackins and a sister, Carolyn Stair.

Alice Brackins has left behind to cherish her memories:

Twin Sister: Barbara Brackins of Erwin;

Brothers: J.D. Tilson and wife, Betty of Erwin,
Bill Tilson and wife, Vivian of Bencia, CA,
Taylor Tilson of Ft. Benton, MT;
Grandchildren: Brandy Brackins of Erwin,
Dakota Brackins of NC;
Great Grandchildren: Skyler Nelson, Bryanna Price and Ethan Lewis;
Several Nieces and Nephews

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Alice D. Brackins in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 PM, Sunday, February 14, 2016 in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home. Wayne Baker, Jane Wilson and Austin Rogers will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 PM and continue until service time at Valley Funeral Home on Sunday. A committal service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, February 15, 2016 at Evergreen Cemetery. Those who wish to attend will meet at Valley Funeral Home by 12:30 PM to go in procession to Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry Erwin, Eugene Brackins, Jason Brackins, Ben Brackins, and Jeremiah Brackins.

The family would like to express a very special thank you to Sharon K. Price for her loving care, support and loyalty.

A special thanks to Dr. Charles Miller and staff of Unaka Internal Medicine for all the exceptional care provided.

A sincere thank you to Joe Snyder and everyone at Clinchfield Drug for treating the family just like family.

And a special thank you to the ICU at Sycamore Shoals Hospital and the Comfort Care staff on the 3rd floor for their compassion and wonderful care provided thru this most difficult time.
