Albert Hensley, age 79 of Keithsburg, Ill., died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012. He had lived in Keithsburg for many years, but at the time of his death, was living at Lutheran Homes.
Mr. Hensley was born July 11, 1933, in Flag Pond, to the late John and Lila Mae Tipton Hensley. He was an Army veteran, having entered at the age of 16. He drove a truck his entire life, from the age of 17 until his stroke.
He was a hard worker and loved logging. Mr. Hensley was a Mason. He loved to work in the garden. He also loved animals, fishing and hunting. He dearly loved his friends and family. In return, he was much loved by them and will be missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his daughters: Nancy Joe Thompson and husband, Jim, Erwin, Tammy Bromell, Stuart, Iowa, Lesley Jones, Bayard, Iowa and Debra Rogers, Bayard, Iowa; sons: Troy Hensley, Illinois, William Hensley, Winterset, Iowa and Kevin Abbadusky, New Boston, Ill.; sisters: Catherine Castillo, San Jose, Calif., Alice Kalbfleisch, Port Angeles, Wash.; several half-brothers and half-sisters in Flag Pond, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews including very special cousin, Geraldine Hardin, Erwin, and special niece, Elizabeth Mae Hensley Jones, Jonesborough, and loyal and devoted friends Jeff and Deb Wakeland, Keithsburg, Ill. Jeff was a son by choice.

Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, at First Christian Church, Keithsburg, Ill.
Burial was in Greenmound Cemetery, Keithsburg, with graveside military rites by Mercer County V.F.W. Post 1571. Dennison Funeral Home, Aledo was in charge.
