Alan Rice

Alan Rice, age 53, of Erwin, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2015. He was a native of Unicoi County and a son of Louise Street Rice and the late Milburn Rice. Alan worked with NN Ball and Roller for 32 years and retired as a supervisor. He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Erwin where he served as a deacon. Alan was an avid outdoorsmen.

In addition to his mother, Alan has left behind to cherish his memories:

Sister-in-law: Cindy Scott and husband, David of Johnson City;

Nat Scott and wife, Sarah of Knoxville, TN,
Sam Scott of Knoxville, TN
Great Niece: Abby Wilson
Great Nephews: Kolby Wilson and Grayson Scott

The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Alan Rice in a funeral service to be held at 7:00 PM, Monday, December 21, 2015, in the Chapel of Valley Funeral Home with Reverend Larry Wiley and Reverend Steve Rice officiating. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 5:00 PM and continue until service time on Monday at Valley Funeral Home, and other times at the home. A committal service be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at Evergreen Cemetery. Those who are planning to attend will meet at Valley Funeral Home at 9:30AM. Active pallbearers will be Tom Whitson, David Scott, Jack Bradford, Danny Higgins, David Griffith, and Steve McCurry. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Central Baptist Church.
