Watauga Genealogists to meet

The Watauga Association of Genealogists will meet at
the Johnson City Public Library, 100 West Millard St.,
on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at 6:30 p.m.
The speaker for this month will be Lori Thornton, academic
librarian, genealogical speaker, author of several
published articles and essays related to family history
or genealogical research. Thornton will speak on the
Baptist Church records found in the Carson-Newman
University Archives. Carson-Newman is a historically
Baptist liberal arts college located in Jefferson City.
Anyone interested in genealogy is welcome to attend.
