Unicoi County Family YMCA opens fundraising campaign

The Unicoi County Family YMCA has kicked off its annual fundraising campaign.
The “YMCA Partners with Youth Campaign” hopes to raise $13,500 from individuals and businesses in the community now through the end of March.
Each dollar contributed to the YMCA Partners with Youth Campaign goes directly to making local YMCA programs and memberships available to those in financial need.
“The Partners with Youth Campaign raises funds for children and families experiencing financial hardships so they have the opportunity to be a part of YMCA programs,” said Becky Lewis, executive director. “The Y is committed to strengthening the foundations of our community. For that, we need to ensure all those who want to participate in YMCA activities have the ability to do so.”
This is the first time in several years that the local YMCA has conducted an annual campaign. The Y hopes to underwrite more than $13,000 in financial assistance with the help of the campaign.
Gifts of any size are welcome.
YMCA volunteers will contact potential donors over the next four weeks about the campaign. To find out how to make a donation, call the YMCA or Becky Lewis, 743-3361, or email [email protected]
