Students display work at Keesecker’s

Since Dec. 16, Unicoi County High School art students have been enjoying a unique privilege at Keesecker’s in downtown Erwin.
Colorful, artistic creations don all angles of the showroom. Some are paintings that vary in color and detail; others are sculptures that have been put on display inside the curio cabinets. However, all of the works have been meticulously crafted by a particular student.
Ben McNabb, the owner of Keesecker’s and a former art student himself, believes in an active relationship between local schools and businesses.
“I really just like the idea of involving the community in my business,” said McNabb. “From a [marketing] standpoint, I feel more involved. That’s just part of being a merchant.”
