Ribbon-cutting set for Los Jalapenos

The town of Unicoi’s newest family eatery, Los Jalapenos Mexican Restaurant, will open Monday, Aug. 9, following an official ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Located in the Rocky Bottom Centre adjacent to the Walmart SuperCenter just off Interstate 26’s Exit 34, Los Jalapenos will offer an array of Mexican food favorites such as enchiladas, tacos, burritos and specialty items, including chile rellenos and steak fajitas.
“We’re very happy to be here,” says Los Jalapenos owner Santiago Kinil, who owns several restaurants in the Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia area specializing in Mexican cuisine.
A family atmosphere and the spicy, flavor-rich Mexican menu are central to the success of Kinil’s restaurants.
The town of Unicoi will host the ribbon-cutting ceremony, and the community is invited to the 10 a.m. event to help welcome Unicoi County’s newest business.
Los Jalapenos will officially open for business after the ceremony at 11 a.m. Regular hours will be 11 a.m.-10 p.m., seven days a week.
