The Kiwanis Club of Erwin will hold its annual pancake breakfast on Saturday, April 28, from 7-11 a.m., at Clinchfield Senior Adult Center, 220 Union St., Erwin. People of all ages are invited to feast on a meal that includes coffee, orange juice, pancakes, sausage and bacon. The event is a club fundraiser that will enable the group to help children. The local Kiwanis Club works with the Unicoi County school system to provide shoes to needy children, is responsible for the annual Christmas shopping trip for youngsters, and supports youth organizations in the school such as the Key Club and Builders Club. The pancake breakfast is a tradition in Unicoi County, and our Kiwanis Club always enjoys feeding those community members who come every year, event chairman Sonny Ledford said. Kiwanians believe strongly in helping children and I urge the community to back this effort by supporting the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast. Tickets are $5 each. They are available at Clinchfield Senior Adult Center, The Erwin Record, Clinchfield Drug Store, Liberty Lumber and Bakers Leather Shop, or at the door the morning of the event.
