Commodity distribution set

The Upper East Tennessee Human Development Agency will begin a commodity distribution on June 16, 2010.
The distribution will be made at the National Guard Armory, 615 S. Main Ave., Erwin, beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. or earlier, if foodstuffs are no longer available. Recipients need to bring a paper bag or box in which to carry commodities.
Each recipient now must have a commodity identification card in order to pick up their commodities. An ID card is obtained by completing an application at the Neighborhood Service Center. If someone is picking up your commodities, they must have your ID card with their name on the card authorizing them to do so. Staff will be available during the distribution to help residents obtain an ID card. Pickups are limited to five orders.
All recipients must be residents of Tennessee, and items will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until commodities are gone.
Anyone with questions can call the Erwin Neighborhood Service Center at 743-4103 or contact the staff at 109 Gay St. before June 16.
