Center lists schedule of events
Like many other nonprofi
t and service organizations
in Unicoi County,
our senior center will have
a variety of fund raising
activities for Apple Festival
2013. This years fundraising
is especially important
because Modern
Woodmen will match the
senior center revenue up to
$2,500.
This years match is designated
toward the purchase
of a treadmill. We invite
members, friends, and
out-of-town guests to visit
our facility at 220 Union St.
or visit our vendor booth at
the corner of Main Avenue
and Union Street.
On Friday only, we will
serve an old-fashioned
country breakfast prepared
by members of the
Unicoi Ruritan Club. The
meal will be our traditional
Boxcar Special
consisting of homemade
buttermilk biscuits, skilletstyle
sausage gravy, bacon,
scrambled eggs, grits,
glazed apples, orange juice
and coffee for $6. Breakfast
will be served from 8-11:30
a.m., or until the food is
gone. Carry outs will be
available. On Friday afternoon
and Saturday, visitors
to the senior center will be
able to purchase coffee,
iced tea, fried apple pies or
other desserts.
