The Unicoi County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect that is considered armed and dangerous after a shooting occurred in Unicoi County on Monday afternoon.
Jason Daniel Vestal was reportedly involved in a shooting in the Canah Chapel community of Unicoi County on Monday afternoon.
Unicoi County Sheriff Mike Hensley informed The Erwin Record that Vestal is wanted for state and federal warrants. Vestal is also the suspect in a shooting, which occurred Monday, Feb. 14. “We are working with several agencies to bring this suspect in,” Hensley said.
Hensley acknowledged that two people, a female and male, were shot during an altercation on Valley Drive and that Vestal left the scene on foot. “This is an ongoing situation but I can say that a female victim was shot and the bullet exited her and struck a male victim,” Hensley said. “Both victims were treated and sent home with non-life-threatening injuries.”
This suspect is armed and dangerous. Hensley said that anyone that should see Vestal or know of his whereabouts, call 911 immediately.
