The Unicoi County High School Drama Department will perform Disneys The Jungle Book on Thursday, November 3, 2011 and Saturday, November 5, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the UCHS auditorium. The Jungle Book combines costumed human performers and innovative puppetry. The show follows the story of the man-child, Mowgli, Baloo the bear and Bagheera the panther, as they are threatened by wily snake Kha, and the fierce Bengal tiger, Shere Kahn. Comedic relief is provided by Colonel Hathi and his herd of elephants, King Louie and his hep-cat monkeys and, of course, the boisterous Baloo, with his unforgettable bouncing rendition of Bare Necessities. Other musical highlights include I Want to be Like You, Trust in Me, and Thats What Friends are For. Tickets are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students and will be available at the door. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.
