Unicoi County High School Lady Devil Basketball coach Kerri King has announced her resignation from the program effective immediately.
According to Unicoi County Schools Director John English, coach King will be missed.
“We are grateful and appreciative of her time and commitment to the program and the players,” English said. “Her passion and love for Lady Devil Basketball were very evident throughout her time as coach. We would like to thank Coach King for her ten years as head coach and wish her the best moving forward.”
Until a replacement can be named, veteran coaches will step up for Lady Devil’s summer activities.
“We have coach (Jennifer) Lingerfelt and coach (Lauren) Trivette in place for summer programs,” English said. “They are both very experienced coaches and they are very familiar with the program.”
According to English, there is no timeframe for announcing King’s replacement as coach for the girls basketball team.
