The Unicoi County Commission has taken its first step toward finding an individual to serve as county
sheriff after the March 1 resignation of Kent Harris. The commission accepted Harris resignation as sheriff and went over guidelines and procedures for appointing a new sheriff to serve in the interim
between March 26 and Sept. 1 during its meeting on Friday. Im sure I speak for the commission that we appreciate his service and wish him and his family well, said Commission Chairman Sue Jean Wilson.
