School system announces relocation plans for Love Chapel students:

From Staff Reports
In a press release issued moments ago, Director of Schools Denise Brown announced the relocation plans for students at Love Chapel Elementary. A sinkhole on school property forced school officials to cancel classes at the school for the remainder of this week.
The press release states: “The decision was made to relocate Kindergarten through second grade students to Unicoi County Intermediate School (UCIS) and third grade students to Unicoi County Middle School (UCMS). The goal is to relocate and return to school by Monday, August 27, 2012. Both short and long term plans have been discussed, but the immediate needs are to educate our students.
“Kindergarten through second grade students will be encompassed in one pod at UCIS and third grade students at UCMS will be located on the first floor of the seventh grade wing. Both new locations have been assessed by bus transportation allowing all Love Chapel students to continue their normal means of transportation to school. Traffic flow issues are being finalized and there will be a separate drop off at each school for Love Chapel students.”
A meeting for all parents at Love Chapel has been set for Thursday, Aug. 23, at 6 p.m. in the UCIS gym. “Complete details will be discussed and questions answered at that time,” the press release also said.
