A new academic scholarship is being offered to a graduating Unicoi County High School senior in memory of Terry K. Bradford.
Bradford, a teacher at UCHS, lost his battle with cancer in January. The scholarship announcement
noted that Bradford was known as a teacher who was dedicated to his students and that he was a man of strong character and caring, saying that For 32 years he taught students more than how to square walls, hang windows, and frame a house. He taught them about life and how to live it courageously. His life was a life of giving.
The scholarship committee is asking the community to give back in his honor so a graduating senior will have a better chance to pursue education after high school, and to fulfill his or her career goals.
This is a one-time scholarship and will be awarded in May 2012. Donations will be accepted through mid-May of this year, and the committee is encouraging everyone to make their contributions soon.
Contributions toward the scholarship can be made at Clinchfield Federal Credit Union into the Terry K. Bradford Memorial Scholarship Fund. Donations are tax deductible.
