One Hundred Trip Club event

The Town of Unicoi celebrates county resident, Mr. George Osborne. Mr. Osborne has completed his 100th trip up to the Pinnacle Tower. The 9.8 mile round trip hike was set in motion more than a year ago through the State Recreational Trail Program. The Town of Unicoi board of Mayor and Aldermen will recognized Mr. Osborne’s achievement by establishing the 100 trip program and making Mr. George Osborne the first recipient of this program and awarding him with a plague. George has walked more than 950 miles to the Pinnacle Fire tower and back, no small feat at any age. Mr. Osborne, 72 years old is set to continue his journey for several additional trips setting the mark for success and wellness. Mr. Osborn is the proud husband of Willadean Osborne of 32 years and the father of five children: Travis Shelton, Ed Shelton, Brian Osborne, Kim Burton and Eric Osborne and the grandfather of seven grandchildren: Brianna, Abby, Justin, Jessica, Shary, Lacey and Austin. As an example to his family, Kim, Justin, Lacey and Austin have followed in his footsteps literally….making the9.8 mile hike with him. The Town wants to thank him for establishing this opportunity and creating a new challenge for other residents and visitors.
