Mountain Commerce announces closure of Main Avenue branch

Mountain Commerce Bank will shut down its South Main Avenue office at the end of the year, according to Bill Edwards, president of MCB.
Edwards told The Erwin Record last week that the bank is closing the office in the downtown area and will shift focus toward the second location on North Main Avenue, near the railroad overpass.
“There will be no change in customer service at all,” Edwards said.
During the transition, Edwards added that letters were sent out to customers of the South Main office to receive free safe deposit boxes at the new location and that the current feedback from customers has been positive.
The president of MCB said that the current staff of the South Main location will migrate to the other office in town to help with the expected increased value of use by customers.
