MedicOne donates defibrillators to county sheriffs department
Staff Reports
The Unicoi County Sheriffs Department now has six potentially life-saving Automated External Defibrillators on hand, thanks to a recent donation. The countys ambulance service provider, MedicOne Medical Response, donated the devices to the department last Tuesday for use in select patrol cars and the county courthouse.
Right now, all of our supervisors are trained to use the equipment, said Unicoi County Sheriff Mike Hensley. Eventually we will have enough to equip every officer. He said training would start for all officers once more AEDs are donated, and noted that some have already been trained.
