Lafever leaves board for works post
Mark Lafever has stepped down from the Erwin Board of Mayor and Aldermen to become the towns director of public works.
After the interview process I was told I had the job, he said. Thats when I stepped down. Lafever said he stepped down out of courtesy to the board and also to adhere to the boards personnel
policy.
Its a conflict of interest to be a member of the board and employee of the city, he said. I would
never want to do that anyway.
The board of mayor and aldermen will begin the process to nominate a replacement board member to finish out Lafevers term, which ends in 2014.
