Indictments handed down

The Unicoi County grand jury met on Friday, July 13, and handed down indictments in several cases presented by the Erwin Police Department and Unicoi County Sheriff’s Department
According to information provided by the Unicoi County Circuit Court Clerk’s office, true bills were returned against:
George W. Spoehr on the charge of violation of sex offender registration and monitoring act;
Roger Hicks on the charge of theft over $1,000;
Daniel B. Edwards on one count each of theft over $10,000, theft over $1,000, theft under $500 and two counts of aggravated burglary;
Joseph P. Tittle on one count each of theft over $10,000, theft over $1,000, theft under $500 and two counts of aggravated burglary;
Courtney D. Bailey on charges of theft over $10,000 and aggravated burglary;
William T. Taylor on one count each of obtaining narcotics by fraud, attempting to obtain narcotics by fraud and two counts of forgery;
Noah A. Dutton on charges of aggravated burglary and theft over $1,000;
Steven B. Rogers on charges of theft over $500 and casual exchange;
Charles F. Mosier on charges of theft over $1,000 and burglary;
Drew Karnstedt on three counts of worthless checks;
Michael Martinez on the charge of worthless checks;
Carl D. Ray on the charges of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia;
Bud Higgins on the charges of aggravated assault on a police officer, retaliation for past action, resisting arrest and public intoxication;
Ricky L. Higgins on the charges of violation of habitual motor offender act, driving under the influence, leaving the scene of the accident and violation of implied consent;
Eric D. Walters on the charges of driving under the influence (3rd offense), driving on a revoked license, violation of financial responsibility and possession of drug paraphernalia;
Travis Richardson on the charge of felony evading arrest;
Baron R. Hamby on the charge of driving under the influence by consent;
Michael J. Hensley on charges of driving under the influence (5th offense), driving on a revoked license (5th offense) and violation of financial responsibility;
Kelvin W. Cloyd on charges of possession of schedule II with intent to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia;
Shawn B. Clarke on the charge of simple possession of schedule II.
The arraignments for these individuals are scheduled for August 17.
