Hunter Education planned

A Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency endorsed Hunter Education Class will be held at Erwin Town Hall from Tuesday, Feb. 25 to Saturday, March 1. All registrations for Hunter Education classes must be completed on-line prior to the first day of class at tnwildlife.org.
Every person born on or after Jan. 1, 1969, before hunting must possess, in addition to all other licenses and permits required, proof of satisfactory completion of an agency approved hunter education course.
Anyone born on or after Jan. 1, 1969, must possess proof of successful completion of a Hunter Education class before hunting in Tennessee.
Those under 10 years of age do not need a Hunter Education certification, but must be accompanied by an adult at least 21 years of age, who must remain in a position to take immediate control of the hunting device.
Anyone wishing to participate in the class must be at least nine years old when the class starts. Follow the prompts for Hunters on the web page. Class begins each night at 6 p.m. Instructor is Jerry Hopson. For more information, call 743-8754.
