Hospital board approves MSHA agreements
The next step in the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital acquisition process was carried out by the UCMH Board of Control on Thursday.
The board approved the final agreements between the hospital and Mountain States Health Alliance for their pending transaction by a 5-1 vote, with board member Sue Jean Wilson as the dissenting voter.
Before the vote, Unicoi County Mayor Doris Hensley explained her abstention from voting based on conflict of interest. She said she supports the boards decision to chose Mountain States Health Alliance for the acquisition and the process by which MSHA was selected.
