Hawk faces domestic assault charge

Tennessee State Rep. David B. Hawk was charged with domestic assault Sunday morning after officers received a report that a woman “had been hit in the face by her husband and also choked,” according to an offense report from the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.

According to WJHL-TV/TriCities.com, after a brief court appearance Monday during which he pleaded
not guilty, David Hawk read a prepared statement: “I am innocent and did not do what was alleged against me. I did not harm my wife … I have faith that the courts will see the truth.”
